Because of a little misunderstanding, I arrived on the reunion around 9 o'clock. When I heared the familiar sound of Mr. Bigfeet & the Donuts (crazy!!) and only heared the most of it. I say "heared" because I didn't got any further than the frontdoor, I felled right in the arms of Stella. It took about half a night before I reached the stage. To my surprise there were hanging lots of pictures of the complete crew of the Bopcats and friends through the intire Cruise Inn, and I really liked it. (thxx José) I ran into Daphne from Leusden, who I know from her and mine family and thought: "Strange to see you on this reunion" Later on she introduced me to her husband, and that was Arnold, one of the rockers from Amersfoort. Man, the world really is very small. Then I saw Rhett & Yvonne van Trigt (former manager of my band "Hop Skip & Jump" , and they are planning to come more often to the Cruise Inn. I really liked it to get compliments of people who came for the very first time to the new Cruise Inn, en they had the feeling, that we only rebuild a little bit, inside it was still the same like the old one. I was wondering if Herby would show up, who used to come in the early days with his old VW beetle. Well he did show up and he didn't changed a bit, still the same job, also his humor hasn't changed. The great moment was when I heared that he was talking to Paul Teijema and after some moments he took a piece of paper out of his pocket and said: "This is something for you". It was a application for the Jehova's witness. Hahahah, for you Paul??? I haven't seen Herby since. (maybe the wrong group of people?) Then with Tommy and Jan van Leeuwen - just like in the old days - hanging around each others neck, shouting with The Gravediggers. Great to have such fun (and beer ofcourse) The Cattleshow began, and for a moment I got a dejavu and goosebumps. I really had tears in my eyes. It seems like they played only yesterday, while there were so many years. That good feeling of years ago was totaly there, all the same people from way back then, now on the right place. Fabulous!! One by one people left the reunion with that great feeling, I stayed behind with Aad Caspers, still chit chatting and eating bread with beer. (the things you do when your drunk) The light's went out at 6 (both ways) We locked everything and I took the couch for getting sober, because driving was not possible anymore. Waking up from that coma was a very tough thing to do, especially when the cleaner is right in front of you!! Make some coffee and while eating (again) some bread we had that old fashioned breakfast. Years ago I stranded on the same place for the same reason. (thx Jan van Leeuwen) I landed right back on my feet and was asking myself what I had done in my sleep, when the cleaner asked me if I had a great time. (which I answered: "Perfect, couldn't be better) and asked again: "That showes, but what is the blue condom doing in the dressingroom?" I didn't had the answer for him, but it sure brings back the good old times. Great, what a weekend!! Got home (showered and picked up Yvonne) and went to Caddy's Diner with the Die Hards. And what did they order? Four cokes and 1 water for the Bopcats hahahaha.
The party certainly domained his toll. and that's the way it is... we're getting older.... and Alan Freed said a long time ago:"Rock & Roll is bigger than all of us!"
