Once
upon a time A long long time ago,
in
a city far far away from here, lived a young girl, S.M., who just
had ran away from home. She was a rebel in heart and soul. She found
a place to stay in a house for young rebellion ladies and gentlemen
and at night she often sneaked out of her bedroom window to discover
the wide wild world. One night she went, together with her friend
M.S., to the cave of a wild bunch of rockers in that city. That night
there was a gig of mr.Bigfeet and the Donuts. The musicians came from
the big city of Amsterdam and were known to surround themselves with
even more wild boppin' rockers. The little girl thought this was all
very exciting. By wiggling' her (then still) big breasts she got in
touch with the roadie of the band and it didn't take long before they
were kissing in a corner of the cave. Because of the fact that the
roadie was trying to get over a lost love and the vague background
of the young girl (S.M.)this all was not a solid base to start a relationship.
In spite of all these bad omens they bravely went on and one day the
girl found a place to live in the big bad city. Meanwhile she had
lots of fun with all the guys with the black-leather jackets, learned
to dance and love Rock & Roll, wriggled herself into petticoat, suspenders
and pumps and found out ,to her great excitement, that she wasn't
alone in her rebellious way of thinking.
Together
with her sneakily conquered prey she put all her energy in the home
turf of this group of rockers in Amsterdam. He arranged the bands,
she collected the cash and all the other Bopcats worked hard to make
the Cruise Inn a success. The girl, that was me. The prey was Rob
Michels and the friend was Monique Schamhart (now for decennia's long
the best friend of, and mother of the child of Theo Borsen). The wild
gang of rockers were the Bopcats and the home turf was the Cruise-inn.
During the years the Cruise-inn was taken over by a next generation
of rockers, a lot of Bopcats moved (me too), had children and went
there own way. Until late September 15th! Everybody came back together
at the Cruise-inn and its crazy, its weird, its strange but also wonderful,
but everything was the way it was back then. The bands the people,
some looked a little different, but everybody is just as fun as they
were then.
